Differential Diagnosis

Pigs - Feet and/or Legs

Swime Vesicular Disease

Presence of high fever (40.5 - 41ºC), vesicular and/or erosive lesions in and around the mouth. Case mortality rate very low or zero in all ages. Group morbidity high but herd morbidity usually low.

Clinical signs depend on the virulence of the causal strain of virus; many strains are of low virulence and produce mild or even inapparent disease.

Differentiated from FMD by the absence of both a high mortality among piglets and a high herd morbidity.
