Vesicular Stomatitis

Presence of high fever (40.5-41ºC), and vesicular and/or erosive lesions in and around the mouth. Case mortality rate usually zero and morbidity rate very variable.

The severity of the clinical signs is variable and depends on the virulence of the causal strain of virus. Subclinical infection is common with mild strains.

Differentiated from FMD by the absence of high mortality rate among piglets.
