To identify the source of the infection by investigating
all movements onto the infected premises (IP) for up to 21 days before
the first appearance of clinical signs.

To limit the spread of disease by tracing all movements
off the IP during the time that virus might have been present on the
farm.

Tracing to include:
-
animals
-
animal products including meat
-
non-animal products including equipment and vehicles
-
milk tankers
-
people, especially those with animal contact, e.g.,
vets, inseminators etc.
